JSC and National Treasury Discuss Judiciary & JSC Funding Gaps

The JSC Chairperson Hon. Martha Koome chaired a meeting with the National Treasury team led by PS Dr. Chris Kiptoo today, to address the budgetary constraints affecting the Judiciary and the JSC.

Discussions focused on critical issues such as:

• Insufficient human resource capacity
• Security Management
• Automation and digitization
• Stalled projects and court infrastructure
• Policies to address effective and efficient administration of Justice

PS Dr. Kiptoo acknowledged the funding gaps and committed to continued collaboration with the Judiciary and JSC to enhance financing. The meeting also agreed on strategies to strengthen the Judiciary’s financial independence, including streamlining the Judiciary Fund.
