JSC Appoints Chairperson and Members to the Legal Education Appeals Tribunal

In a significant move to enhance access to justice and promote the quality of legal education in Kenya, the Judicial Service Commission has appointed the Chairperson and Members of the Legal Education Appeals Tribunal. This appointment aims to strengthen the tribunal’s capacity to handle disputes related to legal education with greater efficiency, fairness and professionalism.

 The newly appointed officials are: 

  • Juliana Wamaitha Njiriri – Chairperson
  • Munoko Moses Sitati – Member
  • Felix Otieno Oketch – Member
  • Yatani Godana – Member
  • Ngulu Joshua Mbinda – Member

 Their appointments, which take effect from January 28, 2025, will run for a term of three years in accordance with Article 172(1)(a) of the Constitution of Kenya and Section 29(1) of the Legal Education Act.

 This new leadership is expected to play a pivotal role in reinforcing the tribunal’s mandate of resolving legal education-related disputes, thereby contributing to the development of a robust legal education framework. By ensuring fair and timely adjudication of appeals, the tribunal will help safeguard the standards of legal education and ultimately promote greater access to justice in Kenya.
