The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) engaged the National Assembly’s Justice and Legal Affairs Committee (JLAC) in a session focused on the implementation and oversight of the FY 2025/2026 budget for the Commission and the Judiciary.

During the engagement, the Chief Registrar of the Judiciary and Secretary to the JSC, Hon. Winfridah Mokaya, highlighted key achievements and institutional milestones, underscoring the progress made in strengthening the administration of justice, enhancing operational efficiency and improving access to judicial services.

While acknowledging these gains, Hon. Mokaya also drew attention to critical resource and operational gaps that require urgent intervention to sustain progress and respond effectively to the growing demand for judicial services across the country.

The engagement reaffirmed the importance of sustained collaboration between the JSC and the National Assembly in advancing institutional priorities, strengthening accountability in the utilisation of public resources, and addressing critical funding needs to support an effective, efficient, responsive, and accessible justice system for all Kenyans.
