Hon. Winfridah Boyani Mokaya was sworn-in as the Chief Registrar of the Judiciary in March 2024 for an initial first term.

Prior to her appointment as the CRJ, she served as the Registrar of the Judicial Service Commission, a position she assumed in 2012.

Hon. Mokaya, an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, joined the Judiciary 1997 rising from District Magistrate II to Senior Principal Magistrate.

She holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Nairobi and a Post Graduate Diploma in Law from the Kenya School of Law. She is also a Certified Public Secretary and is currently pursuing a Master of Laws degree.

She is a member of the Kenya Magistrates and Judges Association (KMJA), Kenya Women Judges Association (KWJA), East African Magistrates and Judges Association (EAMJA) and the Institute of Certified Public Secretaries (ICPSK).

Hon. Mokaya possess strong leadership, administration and management skills, with a particular focus on human resource and financial management.

She commands experience in formulating policies, guidelines and standard operating procedures, extensive practice in talent

management and the human resource management cycle.

Her career objective is to serve diligently, honestly and conscientiously as an outstanding judicial officer to facilitate the Judiciary‘s mandate and vision to deliver justice to the people as commanded by the Constitution of Kenya 2010.
